Sylvester Stallone and Montegrappa present the Chaos Automatic Analogue Watch at Baselworld
-Fans of Sylvester Stallone will be having a handful of memories in this
year’s Baselworld event. One of the world’s premier pen makers,
Montegrappa has presented the Chaos Automatic Analogue watch at the
event. Featuring detailed design of serpents and skulls on a choice of
gold and silver casing, this watch has been conceived by Sylvester Stallone,
who thought of the signature motif of the series. The journey between
the Hollywood action star and Montegrappa had started last year with the
limited edition Chaos Pen.
Also, at Baselworld 2013, some other icons were paid tribute to via
limited edition pens, like the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley and
iconic painter, Salvador Dali. From the iconic series introduced last
year, the Analogue watch continues the trend that got the Montegrappa
Chaos series started.
The Montegrappa analogue watch is a sight to behold in itself. It has a heavily worked casing which features the Chaos series motifs, involving a series of serpents and skulls. With Sylvester Stallone behind the idea, it had to be something truly outstanding as it looks. The casing by itself is large, measuring 54mm long and 43mm across, but most of the space is occupied the motif, which one can pick in forged silver or gold work. The dial is a multi-level gold and black surface, covered with anti-reflective sapphire crystal, where hours, minutes and seconds are revealed by illuminated gold hands. The power of the watch is derived from ETA 2824 movement , which also controls the date function noticed at the 3 ‘o’clock position. All numerals are in Roman font, to revoke a sense of nobility from yester years.
But Montegrappa wasn’t just about this special edition watch when it participated at the Baselworld 2013 event. It bought alive the spirit of many iconic figures of the past, especially King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, and iconic artist, Salvador Dali. The Elvis pens are bejeweled writing instruments, which have bring out various shades of Elvis career beginning from 1956 to 1977. In fact, the colors chosen for each pen, are according to various eras within the time period. For those still addicted to Elvis, and the pocket deep enough to bear the price, these pens are a true object of desire.

The Proposal of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Timeless
Rolex Oyster Perpetual Timeless
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Timeless is an unsolicited proposal by
Fremdkörper. It is not a project on behalf of Rolex, but it is the
‘watch’ that Fremdkörper is proud of its creation. The company has gone
to great lengths to impressively capture the reputation, the quality,
the luxury of Rolex. Keep in mind the watch has yet to be approved by
Rolex, there still runs the risk of being rejected.
Generally this concept is considered more as an artwork than a
product. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Timeless is a statement even if it
would exist only as a single piece. In Rolex’s stead the company would
present the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Timeless as a limited edition. If the
18 ct yellow gold watch would be approved it would be set at the price
of $30,000 USD.
As from now, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual is timeless
The Rolex is a classic for the wrist. Its history goes back to the
year 1905. The first water- and dustproof wristwatch, the model “Oyster”
was first presented in 1926.
In the early days, Rolex came up with various technical
innovations. A Rolex was the first wristwatch that met the criteria of
the Official Swiss Rating Centre.
The Rolex became synonym for precision. But the increasing success
was not only based on the function, it was the acquirement of a good
reputation as well.
And today, the Rolex is a status symbol much more than in the past. It is worn as a statement.
Despite the fact that a Rolex is still performing their original
task perfectly—to display the time accurately—today time data including
scheduling is better handled by mobile phones.
GRIEB & BENZINGER Presents a New Bespoke Watch: Area 51
It’s gotten around in the world of watches: GRIEB & BENZINGER
fulfills bespoke horological dreams. Like hardly another, the masters of
skeletonization at GRIEB & BENZINGER know how to fulfill the wishes
of its clients with traditional technology and exceptional design,
creating a unique handmade piece with high exclusivity that allows the
client to have his or her personal watch dream realized.
Earlier this year, a very unusual request arrived at the workshop from a customer who already owns several GRIEB & BENZINGER timepieces. As his son is a huge fan of aliens and space, his personal wish was to receive an alien-themed watch along the lines of the Area 51 legend realized for him by use of GRIEB & BENZINGER’s famous horological techniques. Using well-known Hollywood movies featuring extraterrestrials as a model, the challenging project was realized using materials that allowed for a metalized liquid appearance.
Thanks to the extreme talent of Albrecht Bolz, master goldsmith in charge of all GRIEB & BENZINGER goldsmith needs, the final result looks unusual and amazing to say the least. Three-dimensional aliens with metalized surfaces and ruby-set eyes against a backdrop of a grey moon-surface dial with craters set with diamonds open a new era of GRIEB & BENZINGER BOUTIQUE customer design.
The back of the watch displays the mechanical movement with in-house modifications like all GRIEB & BENZINGER watches created in traditional craftsmanship using historical machines and tools: skeletonization, guilloché and engraving are all completed by hand to achieve an impressive movement with a great deal of character. This movement is also blackened and continues the extraterrestrial theme: three-dimensional planets – of course prominently including Mother Earth – are set on the bridges providing an impression of the depths of space.
Housed in a solid 18K palladium white gold case and secured using an extra-short strap with red stitching, this Area 51 watch will ensure its future owner, a 12-year-old boy lucky to have a loving father to fulfill his horological dream, has a smile on his face. The price of the watch?… Finite, but the price of the smile is something that money cannot buy.

Gold-Plated Lamborghini Model Car Worth $7.5M up for Auction in Dubai
Fancy and super luxurious super cars are a very common sight on the wide
streets of the state of the art highways of Dubai. Recent media reports
suggest that a Lamborghini made out of solid gold and encrusted with
precious gem stones will soon hit the market. This car will not be one
that you can drive down the street as this will be a model car, weighing
55 pounds.
The ostentatious car hasn’t been built yet but is sure to turn quite a few heads upon creation. This miniature model of the iconic sports car was recently put up on display in Dubai. The model resembled an expensive piece of jewelry more than any vehicle. However the price tag of the yet to be built gold plated Lamborghini could be too heavy for the pockets of even some of the wealthiest international customers.
A great attribute is the fact that, once sold, $650,000 of the amount paid will go towards charitable organizations.
